Introducing enterade® IBS-D
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is one of the most burdensome chronic ailments in the US today – 40 million Americans suffer from IBS. IBS is classified into three subtypes: IBS- Diarrhea (IBS-D), IBS-Constipation (IBS-C) and IBS-Mixed (IBS-M). IBS-D affects 16 million people worldwide, accounting for 40% of all IBS patients and is the most common subtype. The Bristol Stool Charts are used routinely worldwide to diagnose IBS subtypes. Primary diagnostic criteria of IBS-D is >25% of bowel movements having Bristol stool types of 6 or 7 (watery) and <25% of Bristol stool types of 1 or 2 (hard).
The exact cause of IBS-D is unknown. However, it is believed that an imbalance in the gut pertaining to excess fluid secretion may be linked to IBS-D symptoms like,

Frequent diarrhea in IBS-D patients is associated with dehydration and an electrolyte and mineral imbalance that often cannot be adequately addressed through change in diet alone. Hydration is essential for keeping cells healthy, sustaining energy and supporting healthy cardiovascular function.

New enterade® IBS-D Works Differently...
Our patented combination of plant based amino acids, plus electrolytes and minerals, works with your body’s natural processes to support and maintain normal digestive balance.
IBS-D took over 10 years to develop in conjunction with gastroenterologists at the University of Florida. This unique formula of amino acids, electrolytes and minerals works with your body’s natural processes to increase fluid absorption and decrease fluid secretion within the gastrointestinal tract, helping to manage:

In contrast to oral rehydration drinks, enterade IBS-D contains zero sugar. While glucose in rehydration drinks can help promote electrolyte absorption, the glucose can also aggravate fluid loss, which is not beneficial when experiencing diarrhea. The amino acid combination in enterade IBS-D helps promote electrolyte and mineral absorption without glucose.
The patented combination of amino acids plus electrolytes and minerals in enterade® IBS-D are:
Amino Acids: L-Valine, L-Aspartic Acid, L-Serine, L-Threonine, L-Tyrosine
Electrolytes: Sodium and Potassium
Minerals: Magnesium, Zinc, Vitamin C and Copper

10 YEARS IN THE MAKING!
enterade® IBS-D formula originated from the Mission to Mars program and a NASA grant to develop solutions to the severe GI side effects caused by deep space travel.
This led to a discovery that this precise combination of plant- based amino acids can help to support and maintain normal digestive function and balance.
Now this same science is being put to work on IBS-D symptoms.
